Stress Test

An exercise stress test usually involves walking on a treadmill while your heart rhythm, blood pressure, and breathing are monitored.  This test is used to determine the amount of stress that your heart can manage before developing either an abnormal rhythm or evidence of ischemia (not enough blood flow to the heart muscle).  This test is essential for patients with diabetes who are at high risk of heart disease.
